Chuck Long
Chairman
After graduating from Morningside College in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Chuck followed the footsteps of his father by working at the family-owned telephone company, Northwest Iowa Telephone Company. After 60 years of doing business as Northwest Iowa Telephone, the name was changed in 2001 to Long Lines to reflect the diverse operations of its parent company. He has served as Commissioner of the Iowa Department of Economic Development, and is a leader in civic, political, and community affairs. He directs Long Lines investment strategies, expansion, and diversification plans to insure continued growth and profitability. |

Paul Bergmann
Paul received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Morningside College in 1986. He currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and is in charge of all phone, cable television, and Internet operations for Long Lines. The duties include overbuilding communities, overseeing both CLEC and ILEC daily operations, and the continuing effort to provide high speed internet, communications, and video to all of our customers.

Craig Cavey
Craig has over 15 years of leadership experience in the telecom industry. His career began with Western Wireless in 1992. His roles expanded on the distribution and operations teams as the company evolved into Voicestream and later T-Mobile USA. As the Vice President of Retail at T-Mobile he led the efforts of 8000+ sales, service and operations employees in 1200 retail stores throughout the United States. Craig graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He serves as President of Long Lines overseeing all service, distribution, and technical operations.

John Gerdelman
Previously, John had served as an Executive Vice President at MCI Corporation, President and Chief Executive Officer of USA.Net Inc., Managing Member of Mortonsgroup, LLC, and successfully emerging Metromedi Fiber Networks from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Since January 2004, John has been the Executive Chairman of Intelliden Corporation, a company which he co-founded that provides software solutions to automate network change management and enforce business policy in network operations. John currently serves on the boards of directors of Brocade Corporation, a storage area network company, Sycamore Networks, a provider of Intelligent Networking Solutions, APAC Customer Services, Inc., a call center company, and Proxim, a designer and manufacturer of broadband wireless equipment and systems. |

Doug Maine
Doug graduated from Temple University with a degree in Communications in 1971 and went on to earn his MBA in Finance from Hofstra University in 1978. He worked at MCI, a telecommunications company from 1978-1998. Doug worked at IBM from 1998-2005 first as Chief Financial Officer, then General Manager of ibm.COM, and General Manager of Consumer Products Industry.

Jeff Meskin
Mr. Meskin is a Co-Managing Partner of BBH Capital Partners alongside Joseph P. Donlan and JP Paquin. He is also a Principal of The 1818 Mezzanine Funds. He is actively involved in sourcing, executing and monitoring investments. In addition, he has monitored investments for BBH’s 1818 Funds and has been a senior member of BBH’s mergers and acquisitions practice. Prior to joining BBH in 2002, Mr. Meskin previously worked at Morgan Keegan & Company and started his career at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Meskin graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin and received a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.

Bert Roberts
Mr. Roberts, is a 30-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, and played a key role in transforming MCI Communications Corporation. Roberts joined MCI at the early stage of the company in 1972. He was named chairman and CEO of the MCI in 1992, after serving as president and chief operating officer since 1985. Roberts also serves on the boards of Valence Technology, Inc., Prostate Cancer Foundation. A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Roberts attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. |

Mike Salsbury
Mike is an attorney with nearly 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, both in private practice and with MCI. He has extensive experience with inter-carrier agreements and equipment supply arrangements, arranging licenses and permits, and handling contract negotiations and agreements.

John Walsh
Mr. Walsh is a Principal of the Funds. He is actively involved in sourcing, executing and monitoring investments. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Windward Petroleum, Inc., Durcon Laboratory Tops, Inc., and KODA Distribution Group, Inc. Prior to joining The 1818 Mezzanine Funds in 2001, Mr. Walsh managed BBH’s Boston-based mergers and acquisitions group and spent several years as a middle market, senior debt lender for BBH in Boston. Mr. Walsh worked in the Project Finance Lending Group at Bank of New England and at Bain & Co. before joining BBH in 1991. Mr. Walsh graduated from Dartmouth College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Jon Winkel
Jon graduated from Morningside College in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He also served in the U.S. Air Force in Advanced Electronics Training. In 1978, Jon joined Long Lines as the Outside Plant Supervisor and worked his way up to President and Chief Executive Officer in 1989, where he served for 15 years until being named Vice Chairman in 2004.
